Middle East Censorship

Wow, this is something that I HAVE to blog about. I was just strolling through the Net, looking for creative advertising a while ago when I found out some examples of ads in the Middle East. Apparently, a strict enforcement of censorship rules was applied there. But the writer didn't specify whether the censorship rules applied to the whole Middle East or only the "conservative" parts of it. Nevertheless, let's see the before-and-after pictures!

From Scooby-Doo. Notice how long Daphne and Velma's skirts have grow?

And this one was taken from "Chasing Liberty". Mandy Moore's dress and jeans have been retouched to cover her feet, arm and clevage.

And this is the funniest. An anime character was properly "dressed".

Personally, as a Muslim, I welcome these types of censorship, if it's going to be imposed here. Mandy Moore still looks hot after the "retouch". At least they didn't make her wear hijab. But I wonder what will happen if it's truly happening here? How will the people react, especially the non-Muslims? What do you think?

And for full examples of some bizarre rules in the Middle East advertising agency, click here. Believe me, it's worth it.
