Hundreds, Millions, Billions Fiasco

I sympathize with those so-called "rebels", "provokers", "people-activists" or "green champions" who got so extremely vocal over their disapproval against the recently announced 100 storey tower, namely Warisan Merdeka (I surely hope this is just a temporary name), made during the 2011 Budget speech last week.

And those delusional chaps took this matter online, with their fantasy petition page, 1M Malaysians Reject 100-storey Mega Tower in Facebook, which I have absolutely no idea what for. As if the government cared about these stupid groups. Haha. I noticed this as there's 12 of my friends joined it as well. I received some heated arguments when I cynically provoked these people in my status. OK I got it, I'm the minorities now. Anyway, that's not my point. So, why the mega fuss about this mega tower?

RM 5 billion. This is the estimated cost of the constructing the tower.

99% of them questioned the rational behind this glorified waste, big elephant or whatever they name it, all while some of the rakyat in certain rural areas are left without basic necessities of water and electricity, and all sorts of weep-inducing hardship-filled stories. Or so they claim.

I wonder, didn't they know that this so-called mega tower WILL NOT be using their money, and instead had been planned ages ago by PNB using their profits? PNB is handling RM140 billion worth of funds and shares in 300 companies and entities. Same case as Telekom who built their own pucuk rebung tower early this decade.

I was left puzzled as to why these morons buzzing crazily as if they were forced to fork out their savings to pay for this tower! Some even ask the government to divide the 5 bil to all Malaysians (amounted to RM100 something/person) so they can use it for better purpose. Like, WTF??? Tolonglah... janganlah perasan duit korang tu.. tak malu betullah. hahaha

If they're not using our money, then why PM announced it in the Budget? Wasn't the budget supposed to tell how will government spend our hard-earned tax money? - these people might say

OK I admit that PM has done a kind of unforeseen mistake by announcing this in the budget. Wrong place, period. But what he has done is simply sharing the news (good news, as he might think) with all Malaysians who's been following the speech (Budget speech is kinda equivalent to US' SuperBowl where all working Malaysians will drop everything to listen/watch for any good news they might benefit from. I remember my dad used to take half-day leave just to come home and sat in front of TV to watch them). Come on people, something TALLER than the Twin Towers which have been the symbol of Modern Malaysia for over a decade, of course this is good news! - that might be what the PM was thinking while writing the speech. Unbeknown to him, some hundred thousands of his rakyat are stupid hobos and naive enough to believe whatever their Facebook friends says.

This is the excerpt of his speech:
